The Cook’s Life Class List
All classes are approximately two hours long and feature hands-on work and class participation. Class dates and times are determined by student and instructor availability. Classes are $45 per person. If you sign up with a friend or two, you each get a $5 discount. Class size is limited to six students.
The below list is just a sampling of classes. I will work with students to customize classes to fit with the skills they would like to acquire. The sky is the limit – let me know what you would like to learn.

Bread, Cheese and Wine
Gather your friends and plan to have fun while exploring bread baking. You bring the cheese and wine and we will make the bread to go with them. Learn the ins and outs of yeast baking and have a party at the same time.
Get out the candles and the wine. I will help you and your significant other make a complete dinner, then I will melt away into the night while you enjoy a romantic evening by yourselves.
Who doesn’t like pizza? I will show you how to make your favorite pizzas from start to finish – no phone calls or delivery charges. We will explore everything from simple white pizza to calzones.
Playing with Pasta
Learn how to make two delicious, vegetable-filled pasta dishes. In this course we will make Garden Veggie Pasta and Eggplant Lasagna. Come prepared to cook, and eat!
Comfort Food for Busy Nights
We will make Mini Meatloaves, Mashed Potatoes and Roasted Carrots in about the time it takes to order pizza. We will also learn how to make a Creamy Mac & Cheese that will knock your socks off. We will enjoy our creations at the end of class, so come hungry.
Let the Oven Do the Work
Dinner doesn’t have to be a labor-intensive meal. Learn how you can prepare Roasted Chicken and Vegetables for the oven in just minutes. While the chicken and veggies cook, we will prepare a Cinnamon Apple Crisp for dessert.
Bread for Everyone
In this two-hour class we will make yeast dough and use it to make a braided loaf, cinnamon rolls and dinner rolls. You will learn the ins and outs of yeast baking, along with easy ways to incorporate whole grains into your baking.
Bagels to Rival any Bakery
Learn to make bagels that will beat any bakery bagel, hands down. In this class we will learn the secrets of baking with yeast, how to make the bagels chewy and try out flavor variations to suit every taste. Come prepared to cook, and eat!
Breakfast with Sourdough
Have you ever thought you would bake with sourdough? Explore sourdough baking with Sourdough English Muffins and Sourdough Pancakes. Each student will receive a portion of sourdough starter to take home.
No need to visit a bakery or buy your cookie dough. You can easily make your own cookies from real butter and sugar. I’ll show you how to make two different recipes and give you tips on making all your cookies the best they can be. Choose from Snickerdoodles, Pinwheels, Gingersnaps, Almond Shortbreads and Triple Chocolate Chip.
Pie Isn’t Scary
You can make your own pie crust. I will show you how to make your own flaky pie crust out of a few simple ingredients. I’ll also give you tips on how to work ahead to make baking your pies stress-free. Choose from pumpkin, pecan or apple.
Homemade Flour Tortillas
Who knew that making your own flour tortillas could be so easy? Develop your rolling pin skills and prepare to be impressed with your own tortillas. We will also learn how to make Cheese Quesadillas and Veggie Chicken Quesadillas.
